Reviews and photos from beautiful timepieces

Welcome to Robbie & Watches. when I started this project my idea was to learn about watches in general but I ended up falling for photography and horology, not a bad combination. Please ask me any questions about any watch (not only the ones featured here) I will try do my best to help. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do.

Why watches?

What fascinates you? For me, it’s watches and photography (mostly watches), that feeling of  taking an incredible picture of a truly unique object brings me great satisfaction.
I have seen many watch blogs and I am sure that almost all of them have a different view on the watch industry, here is my position:
I love all kinds of watches, people seem fixated with Pateks, AP, Vacherons . One day I hope to have the privilege to review incredible brands like these but it wouldn't make me love watches more than I do now, this blog is not to show off how much I spend on watches or what is a good/bad watch, this site is about what an average Joe thinks about a mid range/high end pieces and hopefully take a beautiful photo of it. I hope you can relate and enjoy this little project.
P.S: all pictures are my own

If you want to talk about a tool watch, a watch with a porpoise, there is nothing better than a pilot watch, yes divers and field watches are great tools too but the speed when things happen on a cockpit are much faster than diving or walking, this means that watches h...

If you have been following my reviews you can see that I have fallen for big watches and specially tool ones made of bronze or titanium, I guess it was the summer vibes and I needed to be a bit flashier but fall is here, this means warm colors and leather straps are ba...

We watch people love symmetry, there is a huge debate going on when a watch has a date or not, where is this date placed and also how clean the dial is.

Date is not the only thing that interrupts this harmony, it could be something minute like the indices or even the n...

Think of a black diver in 40mm, immediately the good old Rolex Submariner comes to mind, this right here is a problem, not only for watch enthusiast but also for any design team that decides to create a diving watch.

If the markers are too round and it has a cyclops it...

I love big watches, tool watches, they call it a watch with a purpose. But sometimes and I meant not very often an elegant, discreet and powerful one comes my way, the last time this happened was when I saw the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 in white grape, it’s a watch tha...

Last time we reviewed Beu watches we had the privilege to do the founders edition in 40mm, it had everything you could wish for an everyday watch. I was curious after such a compelling offer what else could the team at Beu do. If you think of any iconic watch design th...

While half of the watch industry is focusing on steel some other brands are focusing on different materials and finishing, to me this is what I would like to see in the next few years but again creating an entirely value proposition with different elements would requir...

When you think of a dive watch automatically Seiko and Rolex shapes are the ones that come to mind, utilitarian and tool like watches command your thoughts much more than delicate and elegant proportions and to be honest it should be like this because of the ISO certif...

Austria is one of those countries in the watch world that don’t get mentioned very often, brands like Carl Suchy & Söhne or Habring² are the ones that usually come to mind, but there is one that really caught my eye in the last year and that is Viribus Unitis (which tr...

Some watches struggle to find its identity, they are complicated and oversized, I like big watches but when I see diver which is also a chronograph my mind can’t decide weather is good for diving or good for racing, kind of like an amphibious car.

I think the best kind...
