Reviews and photos from beautiful timepieces

Welcome to Robbie & Watches. when I started this project my idea was to learn about watches in general but I ended up falling for photography and horology, not a bad combination. Please ask me any questions about any watch (not only the ones featured here) I will try do my best to help. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do.

Why watches?

What fascinates you? For me, it’s watches and photography (mostly watches), that feeling of  taking an incredible picture of a truly unique object brings me great satisfaction.
I have seen many watch blogs and I am sure that almost all of them have a different view on the watch industry, here is my position:
I love all kinds of watches, people seem fixated with Pateks, AP, Vacherons . One day I hope to have the privilege to review incredible brands like these but it wouldn't make me love watches more than I do now, this blog is not to show off how much I spend on watches or what is a good/bad watch, this site is about what an average Joe thinks about a mid range/high end pieces and hopefully take a beautiful photo of it. I hope you can relate and enjoy this little project.
P.S: all pictures are my own

It is a bit odd that not so far ago mechanical watches occupied a big role in precision time keeping, I mean time is essential even more so by todays standards but the peak of mechanical pieces is long gone thanks to atomic clocks and even smaller devices like our smar...

We all know the history of the Royal Oak and how it helped (other ones believed that it saved) the industry for the big bad wolf called quartz. In all honesty the Royal Oak was like anything else seen in the market at the time, a steel square body watch with an integra...

All watches do the same thing or at least the propose is similar which is to tell time, now with the digital era at its best, mechanical watches were relegated to be more of a statement piece or an object to mark an important achievement in life, this is not always a b...

When I have my usual conversation with friends in the watch world we usually debate the same brands all the time, it gets repetitive and to be honest quality on high end pieces is a given, it doesn’t get us surprised when is there. What really does get our radar going...

If you love watches, I mean really love them in the sense that they are in your head all the time, you have probably learn that there are a few ways that a watch should look like: round for sure, 2 or 3 hands? of course… and usually with the crown to the right. If you...

When you think about a watch many things come to mind, usually is a round object with gold and a white face, why? well watches are round, they are luxury items hence the gold and no one draws a black face on a watch, they just don't, so whatever happened on the TOCKR d...

That feeling of underwater exploration is something unique in today's world, I am not a diver (not even close) and to be honest not into water sports but that idea of being under the surface with no sound and surrounded by an ecosystem that you barely see everyday is v...

There are many associations with the world of watches weather is racing or diving in my opinion sports is one of the most true subjects out there. Any sport needs to be timed so the relationship of this duo is based on necessity and that is true still today. Yes, instr...
