Reviews and photos from beautiful timepieces

Welcome to Robbie & Watches. when I started this project my idea was to learn about watches in general but I ended up falling for photography and horology, not a bad combination. Please ask me any questions about any watch (not only the ones featured here) I will try do my best to help. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do.

Why watches?

What fascinates you? For me, it’s watches and photography (mostly watches), that feeling of  taking an incredible picture of a truly unique object brings me great satisfaction.
I have seen many watch blogs and I am sure that almost all of them have a different view on the watch industry, here is my position:
I love all kinds of watches, people seem fixated with Pateks, AP, Vacherons . One day I hope to have the privilege to review incredible brands like these but it wouldn't make me love watches more than I do now, this blog is not to show off how much I spend on watches or what is a good/bad watch, this site is about what an average Joe thinks about a mid range/high end pieces and hopefully take a beautiful photo of it. I hope you can relate and enjoy this little project.
P.S: all pictures are my own

Right now in the watch world blue and vintage go hand in hand, almost every house is offering their own version but to be honest few of them are the real deal.

There are many variables when a watch goes to market, the price could be a deal breaker, or perhaps the shade...

When we read the words ‘’made in China” we ussually think that the product is mass produced and badly made, but because of the low price we accept that it would do just fine. This pre- conception sometimes can be right but it can also be wrong, Chinese culture is one o...

Sometimes this crazy but beautiful watch hobby gets a bit too repetitive, we love our tool watches and also our racing chronographs but we also enjoy when a new design comes up, new hands, new dial and a new design language that doesn’t look like anything that has been...

Today, even the most mechanicals tool watches are obsolete, everything has been replaced by diving computers or digital instruments on plane cockpits but we are still obsessed to create a mechanical marvel that can outperform on any situation we might need to use it fo...

You probably noticed that the title of this review is a bit odd but please try to stay with me. We all know that big brands with big marketing budgets aim to convince many people that they are offering the real thing, it is true that the Rolex Submariner or the Omega S...

One hand watches are a tricky thing, sometimes they are hard to read and sometimes they could be also a bit plain, I mean there is not much to play with, look at Tudor for example, the overall shape is very generic, doesn’t say much but those snowflake hands really do

What is watch collecting? And how many watches you need in order to have a collection? Is a question that I have been asking myself lately. People usually try to have a variety of complications or nuances that make one piece different than the other, for example, I hav...

Everything changes when you grow up, I always remember how good complicated cars and watches made me feel, the first time I looked the photo of a Lamborghini Diablo my heart stopped, it was amazing, I had no idea how fast or how it handled, I just knew that it look awe...

If I had to pick the most useful complication on a wrist watch today it would be the GMT one, having the ability to track a second time zone is more useful that knowing the exact time to boil and egg (sorry chronograph lovers it just is), even if you have no relatives...

Being a watch collector you want to experience everything: a call from your AD telling you the watch that you have been waiting for is ready for collection, a pre-owned  purchase that you consider a bargain and of course, making your own watch, the latter is probably t...
