Offering quality to stand out - The Palmos one

Nowadays, stainless steel is king and among that same category, integrated bracelets seems to be even more popular. We have been seeing this trend for a few years now and if anyone had a doubt about it, Rolex just launched its new Land-Dweller (still not convinced by that name) in 2025, this should make it even clearer.
Taking this last point event further, many people saw a comparison between the Rolex novelty and the benchmark when it comes to value, the Tissot PRX. That meant that is fair to say that there is a big offering out there when it comes to these Genta inspired pieces, so it begs the question: how can you stand out from the crowd?

I saw my friend Vincent from Mainspring reviewing a watch which had an outstanding dark green dial paired with what it seemed like a beautiful bracelet. That was just the beginning as there was more to discover but it really got my head turned. The watch in question was the Palmos One and quickly, he got me in touch with the owner, and to my surprise, he was London based just like me. So, things escalated quickly.
I spent a good amount of time with the first iteration from the brand. Athanasios used the word ‘’palmós’’ for its new project which in Greek means heartbeat, which not only signals that his new watch would be mechanical by nature, but that is also made with passion, more than an object.
Join me to discover the details of a watch that brings joy and elegance to the wearer, let’s begin.
The specifications
The Palmos One is a watch that is aimed for everyday wear, with this in mind the 40mm stainless steel case feel right at home on my 6.25 ich wrist. Part of the comfort is also the thin mid-case which measures 9.2mm in height, in other words, it is very thin.
As expected from a sport-chic category, the Palmos uses a mixture of brushed and polished surfaces which play nicely with the light, is not as exaggerated as some of other watches out there like the PRX case/bracelet and I think it suits better.

The start of the show to me is the dial. I am not sure how the dial is on the other variants in which the Palmos One is being offered, but the Olvie Green, it by far one of the best greens I’ve photograph this year. The brushed is subtle but present, and the green is very muted not in your face, very classy. One of the details that I’ve enjoyed is that there is no lume on the applied markers, they are made of polished steel. They look like small pearls which are paired with the long-skeletonized hands, everything has a similar treatment. All looks tidy and well thought out.
Another detail to enjoy is that there is no unnecessary writing on that galvanic canvas, only the brand’s name and ‘’Swiss Made’’ to denote that the Palmos brings that European quality.
Turn the watch over and you are greeted with a display caseback showing off the SOPROD M100 (A10) Swiss Movement, we are still not sure if a Sellita would be an option, but we are happy with either one as the accuracy and robustness would be assured. The movement offers 42hours of power reserve.
The Palmos One offers 50 meters of water resistance which is enough for everyday use, maybe a boost on this would make it a perfect GADA watch, but we cannot really complaint.

On the wrist
As per the measurements described above, the Palmos One is comfortable and thin. This makes half of the job done, but the bracelet is another big part of the package. This bracelet is quite different, not only because it attaches to the case as a regulars 20mm strap, but also because of the link design. Instead of a 3-link bracelet which seems to be the norm these days, the Palmos links are a single horizontal slate/piece making the watch feel more modern and of course unique. I quite enjoy these types of bracelets because it has the convenience of swapping straps when you get tired of wearing metal but keeping the retro look.
I wore the Palmos mostly at home and a couple of times on office environment. I found the green blends nicely with lots of outfits but also feels good with shorts and shirt, is not a summer watch (at least on this colour) but it can easily be used with plenty of attires.
Legibility is also a high point for the Palmos One, the way that it looks which is subjective works well for me, but it is easy to read while the lack of date keeps the symmetry alive. The layout is simple but elegant at the same time and I really believe that there is a lot to learn from other brands in terms of restrain when it comes to a dial, less is more.

Concluding thoughts
As we mentioned, there are quite a few watches inspired by the 70’s trend. But few really feel coherent and well put together as the Palmos and we still haven’t talked about the price. The Palmos would be available at 782 GBP with a 40% discount for the first 100 orders. You do not need to tell me that at this price with that movement and that level of finishing, this watch undercuts the PRX by quite a bit.
The Palmos will come in 4 variants, a beautiful Classic Blue, an elegant Jet Black, a Steel Grey and our outstanding Olive Green.
If you are looking for a different design which gives versatility, built quality and value, the Palmos One is a watch that you should have on your shortlist. I would be keen on trying to get 40% so make sure you subscribe your interest here: https://www.palmos-watches.com/
