Not so long ago, we published a good article regarding WishDoit(WD), their divers and how many features are packed on a watch that costs less than 120 GBP. Not content with that release, the guys at WD decided to supercharge their main Diver and provide us with features that can be found in watches of 10x the price and I am not exaggerating.

Divers are the best types of watches in my opinion, not only because they are usually goodlooking but because they are robust and easy to wear in any situation. For summer, is the go-to watch and this new version from the brand, comes with an incredible fume texture dial, bi-tone bezel and at the same price of their previous iterations.

Sure, we can say that September is not the heart of summer, but the dial does remind you of that not so long ago break with a hint of cold colours. I believe that the watch would work as well in the winter, it is quite attractive.

Join me to discover a real value proposition that can be worn by anyone at any time. Let’s begin.

The specifications

A diver must be 40mm. It is the benchmark size for a do it all watch and in my 6.25-inch wrist, the under 12mm in thickness and 47mm lug to lug feel just right. I have the say that the watch does feels smaller than the dimensions suggest, making closer to a 39mm watch. The stainless-steel case feels sharp and has the finishing elements well defined, it feels that is made with a lot of attention to detail.

One of new details for the watch can be encountered on the bezel which is now made of sapphire. The effect is quite lovely, a call back to vintage watches without reliability concerns. Sticking with the bezel, it is divided into a white half and a blue one (this is for our sample version) and it matches the dial aesthetics when the triangle points at 12.

The applied markers and logo, match well the dagger stile hands, everything is easy to distinguish, elegant but functional.

The dial is the most attractive part of the watch, the sand like texture feels original and organic, nothing forced but well executed, it does give the impression of entering the ocean. The degradation is quite strong and look very good and because the date can be found at 6 o’ clock, there is a perfect symmetrical uninterrupted composition, it works very well without feeling gimmicky.

The watch provides 150 meters of water resistance via the screw down crown, and the absence of crown guards makes it easier to access it. Inside the watch, we can find the Seiko NH35 which is thin, affordable and again, very reliable. It helps to keep the price low and have the hacking with date feature available, quite a solid pack.

On the wrist

Wearing the Diver by WishDoit it easy but it does call for attention. The shades of the dials are unique and look quite bright, but I have received nothing but complements on this one.

Legibility is quite good, the Super Luminova application is generous the watch glows with the minimum charged from the sun, it is a good diver companion.

I wore the Diver mostly to the gym and to do local activities like washing the cars or hiking, it was very easy to use and didn’t worry much about water or any knocks, I took care of it, but it feels robust enough to take on a good abuse.

The watch comes with its own stainless-steel bracelet, it is well made and tappers from 20mm to 16 at the clasp, easy to adjust and doesn’t impact a lot in terms of weigh for the wearing experience. That said, because of the dial, the watch looks at home with a rubber strap, specially a grey one, it just adds to the nautical theme and comfort for everyday wearing. This last point added with the 12mm height of the case, makes the Diver a great watch to wear with almost any outfit, perhaps a short a and shirt, I really feel that it is a vacation watch.

Concluding thoughts

The Diver from WishDoit comes in with 2 other models, a light brown and also a greener aqua version, which ever you decide to go for, I am sure of the quality and finish of the overall package.

Now as mentioned we will comeback to the price of the watch, the Diver from WD, comes at 110 GBP in plenty places such as Amazon or Ali Express, and I have to say that at that price with that many features, it is hard to go wrong. It is also worth pointing out that this is not the first watch that I review from the brand and the QC is quite good, nothing is faulty and well packaged, I would attest for this.

Coming back to our watch, it is impressive how much can you get not only in terms of features but also on design at this price bracket. You would think that with brands like Hamilton or Tissot, going after smaller players would have been an easy move but, we are surprised to see what it can be out there and go head-to-head with other Swiss companies.

I will keep an eye on this brand, not only for their divers but also their world timers, their skeletonized watches and also some of the best ladies version I’ve seen.
