When we talk about watches, modern mechanical ones, art is something that always comes up as a topic. Because they are no longer a necessity in a digital driven world, the slow and antiquated wrist watch has become a luxury, an object with the purpose to produce emotion.
In that sense there are a lot of watches out there that feel like a copy of another one, and sure the style and functionality usually dictates how they should look, but sometimes, we can also find something different, special.
I have been reviewing watches from WishDoit for a bit now, and the quality vs price has always been something I cannot stop appreciating. Not only they have one of the best machined finished movement I’ve experienced, but they also bring beauty to the table.

I have been waiting the LE Armor for almost a year, it was a watch that I always wanted to experience. In this line of hobby, I get a bit tired of writing and photographing about watches that do the same thing, and this skeletonized blackout barrel shaped watch with a 3D Samurai on the dial has stolen my eyes. It is a watch that you can wear everyday but also admire it as an object, as a luxury item.
Join me to discover one of the most intense and beautiful pieces I have review this year.
Technical specifications
One of the good things about WishDoit is that they found a great formula with their barrel shape case and they manage to use it in several lines of the brand. The 42mm diameter with a 50mm lug to lug length wears like a charm on my 6.25 inch wrist, I have plenty clearance on both sides. The case as we all know, is curved making it more ergonomic than any other shape. The stainless steel body of our Armor version has been coated and polished, giving this weapon-like look that fits the overall theme of the watch. The Armor itself could be considered 2 tones, the rose gold accents of the large crown and the internal of the dial, make it feel not only stealthy but also expensive, more on the price later.

The party is inside the watch of course with an spectacular Samurai armor and swords.
I cannot begin to describe the meticulous details you can find in here. From the rose gold paint to the reddish brown mixed with a touch of black, the 3D armor looks like a museum piece, well detailed, it feels real. The 2 katanas at the bottom of the dial have their own tsuka or handle mimicking the silk wrapping and then, you can also find the belt with 2 crossed feathers crafted up to the most minimal detail. Moving to the mask itself, you can clearly see that this is another level of work, the mouth cover has these golden whiskers follow by the kabuto or helmet created in the most ornamental fashion. I really hope that the macros can make justice.
Of course, the Armor from WishDoit is a functional piece, at the permitter of the dial you can find 12 luminous markers and in the center, one of the sharpest handsets I’ve seen on a watch, all in polished steel so it can

contrast with our lovely Samurai armor.
Not content to this level of finishing, WishDoit decided to showcase the skeletonize high beat movement as well, the rotors brings this oriental flare and of course all coated in black to keep the colour scheme consistent, not corners were cut here.
On the wrist
As mentioned with the previous dimensions, the watch wears like a charm, and because of the curved shaped of the case, the 14.8mm of thickness feel quite manageable. Another part of the Armor that really shines is the strap, the fluorine rubber is soft and I also think that they have chosen the right width at 21mm, not to large not to small, it just feels like a great ergonomic design from the case to the buckle which has been also blacked out.
I wore the Armor almost anywhere, to the gym and on the weekends, there is no denying that it is a statement piece. It is a conversation starter and I have to say that even not watch people can understand the time and passion spent on a watch like this, perhaps maybe was my contagious enthusiasm but this is again what a watch should do, bring excitement.
The watch is also extremely light, sure not as much as the forged carbon versions but at 135 lb., it is one of the most comfortable watches I wore so far. As a comparison, I have a 34mm Rolex Air King and weights more than double.

The main question is of course how good this watch blends in? well, it is not as loud as the red and golden counterparts, it is muted but of course is a watch that call the attention. It is not as dress watch but I have to say that because of the craftsmanship, it feels quite classy, sporty but chic.
Concluding thoughts
One of the best parts of this new Armor from WishDoit is the price. The watch is currently sitting with a 30% discount at 280 GBP which is a steal in my eyes. The red and gold versions are now sold out so I think this is the moment to try and get one of the few left, and to me this is the best version, it feels more upscale.
The Armor is a watch for people who want to experience emotion in a way that a watches are not delivering nowadays. It is a testament to quality and dedication but with a price tag that cannot be seen often. I would be happy to wear the Armor everyday but I would also like to have it n place where I can admire it and discover new details whenever is worn. It is special.
